TWIG - The Word Is Grace
TWIG - The Word Is Grace is brought to you by The Carpenter's Shop, located at 1201 East Elmore Street in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Our Sabbath services begin at 3:30 every Saturday afternoon. Listen with us as Bible teachers Jim Denman and Tim Terry examine our faith in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus), with a Hebraic perspective. What did Jesus eat? How did He dress? Is the Torah still valid to believers today? Did He really say that there are only two laws that we have to follow now? Did God change His requirements for salvation after the cross? Is the Sabbath on Sunday or Saturday; was it changed? Join us as we seek answers to these questions, with balance and a humble reverence for God's Word.

Paul is probably the most misunderstood writer of the scriptures. His words were being twisted while he was still alive... how much have they been twisted in the nearly two thousand years since he wrote these letters? If we are to believe the most common commentaries and teachings concerning Paul, then how do we reconcile his taking a Nazarite vow, or the apparent contrast with the book of James?
As Tim leads us through the rest of Galatians chapter one, try to imagine Paul saying any negative word against the Torah (Law) of God. Try to imagine Paul cowering down to men who expected Torah observance from him... would he? Would Paul, who said himself that he 'delighted in the Law', ever speak in a negative way about the very words of Messiah, or the words of the Father, spoken from Mount Sinai? We don't think so. That was not Paul's nature. Remember, Paul was beaten and left for dead more than once for speaking Truth! ...Maybe we have misunderstood a few things about Paul...
Though this book is short, and sometimes difficult, it holds tremendous value for us today. Thanks for coming with us as we take a fresh look at Paul's letter to the Galatians. We hope you will be driven to God's Word, and blessed by what we find as we look at these things through a historical, Hebraic perspective.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Shabbat shalom!
